It has been said many times by industry analysts like Gartner and Forrester, by senior executives and field people at Microsoft, and by our customers — and even by our competitors — that if you are looking for MDM in a Microsoft-centric deployment, then Profisee is the obvious choice.

So why does everyone say that? First, in 2007, Microsoft acquired a company called Strature and used its IP to build Microsoft Master Data Services (MDS). Some of the strategy principles and developers left Microsoft and founded Profisee to build master data management (MDM) on top of Master Data Services (MDS).

So from its founding Profisee has been aligned with Microsoft. But that was just the beginning: There are now many more reasons.

First, as a result of deep collaboration with multiple dev teams in Microsoft, Profisee is the best integrated MDM with Azure. Profisee was part of the Microsoft Fabric private preview program So the day Fabric was announced, Profisee was already integrated and not just able to access Fabric, but Profisee connectors were included with Fabric and available through the Fabric menu system.

MDM and data governance go hand in hand. And since its launch, Profisee has had a two-way integration with Microsoft Purview that is widely regarded as the deepest and most mature MDM integration with Purview. Both Azure Data Factory and Power BI have dedicated and certified connectors for Profisee that ship with their respective products. Of course, we can move data seamlessly in and out of Synapse.

And it’s important to note not only is Profisee the only MDM on the market with exactly the same software available in the cloud as Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) on any platform including Azure, but also as a turn-key managed Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution. And naturally, the Software-as-a-Service is hosted in Azure and is available in five global Azure regions.

And all this is recognized by Microsoft. Profisee was a launch partner for the Microsoft Intelligent Data Platform. And has the most MDM reference architectures published on the Microsoft support site. And Profisee was recognized as a finalist in the 2023 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award for Rising Azure Technology, both in the US and internationally out of 4,200 entrants. Consequently, Profisee has been selected by Microsoft as one of only 12 strategic global partners for the Azure data part of their business, with the most MDM implementations on Azure, the most joint sales with Purview and the most deals on Azure Marketplace.

And a lot of this has been made possible through the vision and support of Microsoft execs, like Mike Flasko, the owner of the Purview product, who clearly see the benefit of a well-integrated MDM solution and the value it will bring to any Azure customer.
