Profisee Selects ERwin Data Modeler to Support Enterprise Master Data Modeling with Maestro

ATLANTA, GA — October 13, 2011— Profisee (, a master data management and data quality software company, is pleased to announce its selection of CA Technologies ERwin Data Modeler to support enterprise master data modeling through the Master Data Maestro product suite.

Master Data Maestro ("Maestro") leverages the Microsoft SQL Server platform, including Reporting Services and Master Data Services, and complements this platform with an extensive suite of enterprise-grade master data management software and data quality services.

With the release of Master Data Maestro Version 3 in 2012, Maestro customers will be able to completely and seamlessly integrate physical Master Data Services models, Maestro master data extensions, and ERwin data models. This allows for a complete, bi-directional fusion of logical design with the instant physical model changes introduced through the Maestro adaptive modeling and Master Data Services system administration functions. This applies to both initial implementation and subsequent model maintenance. IT specialists and business users will be empowered to dynamically work with either logical or physical models, while ensuring all master data model changes are integrated and consistent across environments.

Describing the need for an enterprise modeling tool and the fit with Maestro, CTO of Profisee Val Lovicz indicates, "Maestro Version 3 will prove to be a key release for Profisee as it includes major modeling enhancements needed for advanced master data management applications. Several advanced modeling capabilities will extend Master Data Services into the ideal platform for PIM (product information management). To accomplish this we are delivering a rich modeling environment that extends to the point of superseding several native Master Data Services functions. With respect to model documentation, design and implementation, our large enterprise customers let us know, in no uncertain terms, that ERwin was their preferred tool. After evaluating an array of modeling solutions available in the market, we concluded this was a case of our customers leading the way."

Additionally, Profisee is developing several industry models specifically for master data management applications. Profisee Vice President Adam Hanson adds, "We plan to formally announce our initial vertical industry solutions in the near future. Like many of our customers, we determined the starting point for any enterprise model design had to commence in a strong data modeling tool. As we design, implement and support deployments of our industry model solutions, ERwin will be the de facto design and documentation tool. This will enable seamless deployment of our industry models into customized implementations for our customers. Now data architects can administer their models from ERwin at the same time as data stewards make necessary changes directly in Maestro or Master Data Services."

Customer feedback from the Master Data Maestro and Microsoft Master Data Services communities expresses immediate need for assistance with large model documentation and ongoing iterative design. While Maestro V3 is under development, Profisee is offering a service to create ERwin files dynamically from any Master Data Services model built on top of SQL Server 2008 R2 or later.
