ATLANTA, GA—September 12, 2013— Profisee (www.profisee.com), a master data management and data quality software company, and GNet Group, a leading BI solutions provider, announce their participation at the 2013 Healthcare Business Intelligence Summit in Minneapolis next week.
In a joint presentation at the Summit, Profisee’s Director of Healthcare, Al Bissmeyer, and Mark Duman, Manager of Database and EDI for New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH), will answer the question “Why is Master Data Management so hot in healthcare, and how is it being utilized?” The presentation, which will be held at 9:15 am on Thursday, September 19th, will provide an overview of the emerging business requirements in the healthcare industry that are the result of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). It will review how Master Data Management is helping healthcare organizations address these business challenges, and will include a case study of how NDBH uses Master Data Management.
“There are a number of key drivers for Master Data Management in the Healthcare industry,” says Bissmeyer. “Most notably, the ACA is forcing a number of changes. In the area of marketing and sales, it is driving the need to sell directly to end members, which requires a 360-degree view of the end member data (i.e., customer, patient, person). Where, in the past, member data may have been managed by an agent, or varying pieces of member data resided in different systems, now there is a need for master member data.
“There are also operational requirements being driven by the ACA, such as the ICD 10, HL7, and HIPAA requirements for master patient and provider data, along with appropriate coding for claims. Master facilities and resource data become increasingly important under the ACA, as well, both for patient management and for M&A activities. Also, the ability to accurately assess billing liability based on insurance coverage requires that only unique or master patient records are calculated.”
In addition to the speaker presentation, Summit attendees can visit Profisee and GNet Group in the Exhibit Hall at Booth #8, to see product demonstrations and pick up customer solution briefs that show how leading healthcare and insurance companies use Profisee’s Maestro Master Data Management and Data Quality solutions for their BI initiatives. They will also learn about how Profisee and GNet work together to help healthcare companies mount successful BI projects.
“We look forward to co-sponsoring the Healthcare BI Summit with Profisee this year. Our combined strengths in BI and Master Data Management enable us to offer unique and powerful solutions that help healthcare organizations take control of their data and empower decision makers to adapt quickly to rapidly evolving industry standards,” comments Venkat Kavasseri, CEO, GNet Group.
